MISSION

APCA’s mission is not meant to be in competition with or distract from other Asian Pacific organizations, but to be a force multiplier partner with other organizations structured to assist the Asian Pacific community.

President & Founder
Vincent Palmieri, Jr.

I was born in Brooklyn, New York. I am one of 4 children in my family. Our parents worked very hard to give us a good life. Our parents taught us the value of life and hard work. I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps when I graduated high school. After my training, I volunteered to go to Vietnam. I felt it was my responsibility and duty as an American citizen to stand up for my country. I was wounded twice in Vietnam and hospitalized for about four months. Upon my discharge from the hospital, I could no longer complete my tour of duty as a United States Marine because of my wounds, so the United States Marine Corps retired me. After I recovered, I went to work for Citibank as a clerk in the operations department.

I spent 12 years at Citibank and left as a Vice President in the fixed income department. In the early 2000’s I had an opportunity to go to China. That’s where I opened up my education center,  teaching about business and finance and then helping students go to America to study. I’m very proud of my 14 years in China. I gained a lot of knowledge about their culture and way of life. I am grateful to have many good friends and students with whom I still keep in touch today.

When I returned to America in July 2015, I realized that the Asian community was unaware of things happening in our city and our state, so I founded Asian Pacific Community  Awareness. APCA keeps the Asian community informed about social events, civic events, and new legislation. We also provide them with information about healthcare jobs, veterans benefits, etc. God Bless the USA!

APCA Introduction

We are pleased to announce the establishment of the Asian Pacific Community Awareness Inc. (APCA), a newly formed community organization dedicated to serving the Asian Pacific community in Nevada. APCA is designed for individuals from Asian and Pacific Islander backgrounds and for all other communities interested in our mission.

The primary objective of APCA is to enhance civil and social awareness regarding the interests of Asian Pacific communities. We aim to promote collaboration, dialogue, and understanding among these diverse groups to address their unique needs and interests. By raising awareness of emerging civil and social issues, we aspire to build a more robust alliance and facilitate meaningful discussions pertinent to our community.

APCA provides a valuable framework for enhancing the overall community experience. We are developing a social media platform to disseminate updates regarding state legislation impacting key issues such as taxation, education, and veterans’ benefits. Additionally, we have established a social media chat group to enable members to exchange information, share APCA-related content, and engage in discussions through posts, videos, and photographs.

To further support the community, APCA offers citizenship classes and will keep members informed about immigration and other relevant topics. Our efforts are focused on addressing ongoing challenges across various domains, including education, business, and civic issues. We are prioritizing several key issues, including education, voter integrity, merit-based immigration, civil liberties, social engagement, the rule of law, and the welfare of the veterans’ community.
